Hey Friends! My last week in July was spent with two friends of mine in Maryland - Sandy and Brandy. No, they are not twins - just friends. Sandy and I were roommates for one semester while I was going to Southland Bible Institute in Ashland, KY. During my time in Maryland, I joined the ranks with millions of other Americans and had my first Starbucks experience (you just sucked in your breath in astonishment, didn't you?!). Thanks, Sandy!

Let's all Go Down to the River!

Sunday morning we had a time of giving testimonies from our week of camp. The Lord was doing so much in hearts that Dad did not even get up to preach! Afterward, ten children wanted to be baptized. Some of the children were saved during the week of camp, some were saved here at church during our week of VBS (the end of June) and others were saved during our junior church time on Sunday mornings. Needless to say (but I'll say it anyway), we are rejoicing!

Victory Bible Camp July 9-13

We all knew this was going to be a great week because every thing in the world related to our week of camp was going "wrong". Pastor Bob Siegrist was our camp speaker. The Lord used his messages from the book of Jonah to send a revival. Twenty-seven children/young people were saved and countless other decisions were made as the word of God and the Holy Spirit were working to bring conviction and repentence in hearts - campers and staff alike. The comment was made by several kids that chapel time was their favorite part of camp.

July 4th with Grandma in PA

Grandma had a stroke in April, and although it affected her right side, she is gaining the usage of that side again. I thank the Lord for the brief time with her. A friend of ours used his truck to help us take her out for a ride - but not before we stopped to get her an ice-cream cone! This was Grandma's first time out of the nursing home (other than for a doctor's appointment).

Helping to Celebrate!

About two miles from our home is an historic clinic that has been remodled. In the prime of its time, nurses on horseback would come to the clinic to care for those in the community who were too far out from the hospital. I obtained permission to use this spot to serve Dad and Mom a special meal in partial celebration of their 39th anniversary. I say "partial" because, the best was yet to come for them. The six of us kids paid to help send them to the Holiday Inn Express for a night. The owner gave us a discount when I told him I was looking for a good deal for my parents' anniversary. Thanks, Dad and Mom for those thirty-nine years! I love you!

The Armstrong's Visit to KY - four days of fun!

Ken and BJ Armstrong graduated with me from NTM. We've become pretty close friends over the last two years of training together. The Lord blessed me by allowing them to come see me just five days after graduation. It made that time of transition a little easier for me knowing I wasn't having to say goodbye to everyone - yet! We had a great four days together. BJ shared during the ladies' Thursday night Bible study time, and Ken took the morning service on Sunday. The boys shared with us by singing three songs. They pretty much captured everybody's heart!
